The Admissions Process

Here’s how IDEA students are selected to attend our schools.



Apply

If you’re interested in enrolling in IDEA Public Schools for the 2017-18 school year, please complete a student application between September 1, 2016 and January 28, 2017, although applications may be received after the January 28, 2017 lottery if space is still available. You can apply using one of the following methods:

In Person

Visit any IDEA campus during normal office hours or attend an information session.

Random Lottery

Whenever IDEA Public Schools receives more applications than spots available, we must randomly select students to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to attend. A random lottery will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 to determine which students will fill spots available at each IDEA school.

Selected

Students randomly selected are encouraged to attend the Welcome to IDEA Event. They must then attend testing and registration events to officially enroll at IDEA Public Schools.

Not Selected

Students not randomly selected will be placed on a wait list. The applications of students on the wait list will remain on file the remainder of the 2016-2017 school year.

Welcome to IDEA

At this welcome event, we will celebrate your acceptance to IDEA and orient you to IDEA's culture, curriculum and expectations.

Waitlist

The order of the wait list will be randomly determined. Students are then selected from the wait list if a spot becomes available at an IDEA school.

Reapply

Students will need to RE-APPLY September 1, 2016 and January 28, 2017, although applications may be received after the January 28, 2017 lottery if space is still available.
