Ready! Set! Race! IDEA Hosts 5K Run/Walk and Healthy Living Expo

On your mark...get set...go! On Saturday, December 1 more than 500 runners participated in IDEA Public Schools'  annual 5K Run/Walk and Healthy Living Expo in Harlingen, Texas. The competitive event was part of IDEA’s Healthy Kids Here initiative and seeks to promote fitness, health, and wellness amongst IDEA students and families, as well as community members. The goal was to provide an opportunity for IDEA families to be active together, as well as connect them with health and wellness professionals in their community.

The Healthy Living Expo was in full swing with an array of vendors and exhibitors including booths with information on crisis counseling, organ donation, healthy eating, diabetes, local gyms, dental health, HEB with healthy eating tips, and even a farmer’s market with produce from IDEA campus farms.
