IDEA Rescue Buses

Since 4:00 a.m. this morning, the IDEA Child Nutrition Program staff has been preparing 1,500 meals for families across the mid-Rio Grande Valley who have been displaced from their homes due to severe flooding.  IDEA Team & Family members have traveled around on buses, driven by IDEA bus drivers, to help families in need.  Members of the IDEA Transportation Team and Child Nutrition Program have been transporting and feeding more than 75 displaced families in the mid-valley. 



IDEA is also setting up a food distribution shelter at our headquarters in Weslaco, Texas to share food to IDEA families living around Alamo, Donna, and Weslaco.  Buses will also be distributing food to pre-established shelters around the mid-cities area.
