IDEA Public Schools to Offer Free Breakfast and Lunch to All Students at Select Campuses this Fall

Starting with the 2017-2018 school year, the Child Nutrition Program (CNP) at IDEA Public Schools will adopt the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). The CEP provides free breakfast and lunch to all children, at selected schools, and eliminates the collection of meal applications. This adoption allows CNP to extend free lunch to all children at selected schools. This is in addition to the free breakfast already offered to all students.

IDEA’s philosophy?  Healthy bodies mean healthy minds.  Financial obstacles should never get in the way of this important principle.  This new approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.
