IDEA High Schools Rank Among U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 Best High Schools

For the 11th consecutive year, IDEA college preparatory schools in the Rio Grande Valley were ranked among the best performing high schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. This annual list of rankings reflects the rigor and success of our commitment to our scholars on the road to success in college and in life.

According to U.S. News & World Report, the 2019 Best High Schools rankings take a more holistic approach to evaluating schools, looking at six factors: college readiness, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates. Specifically, college readiness measures participation and performance on Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) exams. The new methodology assigns weights to the six factors and then produces an overall score on which the ranking is based.

In U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 ranking of best high schools in the nation released today, eight IDEA high schools received rankings on the list. More than 17,000 public high schools across the country were analyzed in order to determine the rankings.

The IDEA Public Schools’ high schools that received a ranking as a 2019 Best High School from U.S. News & World Report include:
