DONNA, TX (June 16, 2010) – IDEA Public Schools graduated its fourth class of seniors on June 8th.
All of IDEA’s graduating seniors collected their high school diploma at commencement and will attend a four-year college or university in the fall. Forty-nine percent of these students are first generation college students.
The Class of 2010 has, so far, garnered a total of $2,174,790 in scholarships and grants. Some students will be receiving awards in the summer. An average of $36,246 in scholarships and grants were awarded per student.
Principal Jeremy Beard commended the class for committing to strict academic and behavioral guidelines. "Commencement is symbolic of their dedication, perseverance, self-discipline, and undoubtedly great family sacrifice."
“Most importantly, the Class of 2010 vowed to give 100 percent every day and make no excuses on the road to college,” Beard said.
