1) Online Registration Participants may register online through active.com. Online registration will close at 11:59pm on Thursday, February 14th. (Please note: active.com does charge a small user fee for registering online).
2) Paper Registration Participants may download the paper registration form here. All paper registration forms must be postmarked by Friday, February 8th. Paper forms should be mailed to the following address:

Group Rate: Running groups or sports teams may receive a discounted rate of $7 a person for the 5K race. To receive this special rate, there should be groups of 10 and each team member must complete an individual registration form. Then the coach or team leader must mail all of the registration forms and fees in together. (Please note: the group rate will not apply at day-of registration. Groups must register in advance to receive this special rate).
Late Registration Late registration will be available the morning of the race from 6:45am-7:45am at the pavilion near the race start line. Event fees increase by $5 on the day of the event. (The 5K event will be $15 and the 1K Fun Run will be $10 on the day of the event. The group rate is not available on the day of the event).
Packet Pick Up Packet pick-up will be available on Friday, February 15th from 5pm-7pm at IDEA's main office in Weslaco. (Address: 505 Angelita Drive, Suite 9, Weslaco, TX 78596). Individuals may register for the race at this time at the normal rate.
Packet pick-up will also be available the morning of the race from 6:45am-7:45am in the pavillion near the race start (inside the Harlon Block Sports Complex).
Course Map The race will begin and end inside the Harlon Block Sports Complex. A map of the race course is available here
Timing IDEA will use a professional timing system for the 2nd annual 5K race. RedBarn company (Austin) is providing this service.
Awards Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female 5K finishers. All 1K participants will receive a finisher's medal.
Restrooms There are restrooms available inside the Harlon Block Sports Complex.
Water Stops & Refreshments There will be two water stops along the race course. Water will also be available for all participants and spectators at the race finish. Refreshments (such as fruit, granola bars, etc) will be available at the end of the race as well.
Parking Participant parking will be available right next to the park at Memorial Elementary School (corner of Border and 18th Street). Due to runner safety, no parking will be allowed inside the park (with the exception of race planners). On race day, there will be signs and volunteers directing runners and walkers where to park and where to go for the start of the race.
Strollers Strollers are welcome at this event. Health Fair The health fair is free and open to the entire community. It will run from approximately 8am-10:30am. A list of participating organizations will be available in the next few weeks.
Volunteers If you are interested in volunteering to help with the race, water stations, or health fair, please contact Guadalupe Castro at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Students can receive credit toward their volunteer hour requirement for helping with this event). All volunteers will receive a special volunteer race shirt.
